Highlights

The 2008 Legislative Session of the General Assembly will convene in Annapolis, Maryland January 9 through April 7, 2008.

This session, ODHH plans to increase involvement in and awareness about legislation affecting people who are deaf and hard of hearing. Starting in January, ODHH will be sending out Legislative Action Alerts to inform the community about legislation of interest. If you would like to receive these mailings, please email Julie Anne Schafer at jschafer@gov.state.md.us.

To track pending legislation that affects deaf and hard of hearing people do the following:
1. Follow this website www.mlis.state.md.us <http://www.mlis.state.md.us> to the Maryland General Assembly
2. click Bill Indexes & Profiles (third on the left)
3. click One or Two Subjects (second choice)
4. at the first drop down menu choose “Deaf Persons”
5. at the second drop down menu choose “Disabilities, Depart of”
6. click Select
7. Current bills pending will appear.

Documents available through this home page are stored in HTML, RTF, WordPerfect, Word, and PDF formats. To view RTF and WordPerfect download them to any word processor such as WordPerfect or Word that reads these formats. You may also use any RTF plug in.
