Determining the number of people with hearing loss has been a long debated and difficult question to answer. One of the better resources to answer this question, available from Gallaudet Research Institute (GRI), is “A Brief Summary of Estimates for the Size of the Deaf Population in the USA Based on Available Federal Data and Published Research” located at: http://gri.gallaudet.edu/index.php.
